Introducing the New Oral Nutritional Supplements (ONS) NEL guidance with training to review patient's nutritional needs and MUST scores
Please be invited to the first Dietetic and MOT linked training for 24/25, kindly provided by the Practice support Dietitian team. All GPs who attended the November training will be aware of how important and informative these sessions are.
We are offering targeted training for PCN lead pharmacists and dietitians, focusing on MUST scores, food first approaches, and oral nutrition supplements for patients, in alignment with the recently published NEL ONS guidelines.
In addition to the topics mentioned, these sessions will cover the referral pathway to dieticians, ensuring a comprehensive training experience.
The new NEL ONS guidance requires that PCN pharmacists are appropriately trained by a Practice Support Dietitian before reviewing ONS patients.
Attendance at these online sessions will enable the PCN pharmacists to support community and care home reviews.
